Value Suffering.
Life isn’t meant to be positive. If life is always positive and painless then the only emotions I’ll ever feel is nothingness and boredom. If life possessed in itself a positive value and real content then there would be no such thing as boredom. Mere existence would fulfil and satisfy us.
Life is suffering and overcoming these challenges and pain is when we will ever feel true happiness. We only ever feel happiness when we overcome the challenges and negative experiences we face. Problems lead to even more problems. Being aware that the world is suffering, and using first principles and analytical thinking to fix problems will guarantee you true happiness and purpose. When you experience suffering and pain, confront it with no fear and laugh at it. Fuck emotions.
A man can figure this out. Can’t he? We’re reasoning animals and we have the highest degree of intellect to be able to be aware of these concepts and theories.
If a man can’t figure this out then he doesn’t get anything done in life that will solidify his purpose into existence. He would be perfectly happy just doing nothing and living a simple existence. However, eventually as time passes, he realises that doing nothing with his life was a mistake and now he lives his next years in depression. He lives with no motivation and it’ll be very hard for him to regain that motivation. He hasn’t consciously realised that the world is suffering.
We all know that our time is limited. Whether we choose to have a sociable and fun life, or a life that is useful, interesting and meaningful, is entirely up to us. How will you live a fun, sociable life if you have no motivation that’ll secure you true happiness.
The measure of suffering in man increases because he is actually aware of death. The animal simply runs away from it without actually knowing about it. This is the reason why humans experience more pleasure and more suffering compared to animals. So to experience more pleasure in life is to welcome evil, suffering and problems into your life. We shouldn’t run away from it because we become the prey, not the predator. How will you welcome evil, pain, and suffering into your life? Have you tried MMA? Why do you think that UFC fighters are perfectly able to handle punches to the face? It is because he welcomes it into his life. A punch to the face is not enough to put him away. Mental suffering and pain could be through solving very hard problems. Problems that’ll cause you to break down. Pain can be welcomed by not being afraid of it. Pain is something so catastrophic to us because we constantly cower away from pain. If there is a dog in front of us, we run away and then we cry in pain when it eventually bites us. Staring that dog in the eyes and walking past it means that you are welcoming pain. Pain is should be so insignificant in our lives that we must almost feel a sense of urgency when pain is present. A man who welcomes pain is a dangerous man.
If you aren’t aware that your life is limited then you wouldn’t feel the need to do anything in life, meaning you have no motivation. If you don’t have motivation, then you aren’t aware that the world is suffering. If you aren’t aware that the world is suffering then you wouldn’t know that the key to finding true purpose and happiness is by struggling. Meaning you will never find true happiness.
Only in the cleverest animals such as dogs and apes does the need for activity, and the consequence of boredom, comes into play. With increased intelligence you are able to think about something that serves your motivation and what will make you content.
If you’re poor then you have to strive for survival by stressing over where you’re sleeping for the night. This sort of survival isn’t a centralised rule on society because those who don’t wish to stay at the top can simply live a life of simple existence. When motivation is quiescent (in other words when we have no goals or objectives that we dedicate our lives to) the life of man is filled by simple existence. A life of tremendous amounts of lounging and procrastination. Men without motivation or a sense of purpose resolve to the maxim of “to get by with the least possible expenditure of thought”. Because to them, thinking is hard and troublesome. Consequently they only think to the necessary requirement that their day jobs require. Their conversations have to be structured so orderly so they can tackle the challenge of thought.
